Sensei Lawrence Patrick is a highly respected martial artist and undefeated kickboxer with a regional competition record of 26–0 with 24 knockouts. He is the owner of Gold Dragon MMA, a premier training academy he opened in 1995. With over four decades of experience, Sensei Patrick holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in Jiu-Jitsu, a 5th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, and a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. He is also the visionary founder of Shin-Jitsu, a mixed martial arts system blending comprehensive striking and grappling techniques well before the term "Mixed Martial Arts" was coined.

Sensei Patrick began his martial arts journey at the age of 14, training under the legendary Ebert “Nails” Martin, whose demanding coaching helped shape his discipline, power, and technique. Sensei Martin additionally exposed Patrick to  world accomplished martial artist such as Rikuo Takizawa, Takayuki Mikami, and Kang Rhee . Sensei Patrick's  dedication, training, and talent earned him a spot to qualify for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, a milestone that cemented his status as an elite competitor.

Beyond his competitive success, Sensei Patrick is deeply devoted to his students and is known for cultivating a family-like, supportive atmosphere at Gold Dragon MMA. He believes martial arts training should inspire personal growth, confidence, and respect, offering classes for children and adults alike. His impact as an instructor, mentor, and innovator has earned him widespread community admiration and induction into the Freestyle Fighting Hall of Fame.
