Gold Dragon MMA opened to the public in May 1995. Since our inception we have produced many title holders in Submission Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts Divisions. Our gym has a proven system of success that has stood the test of time. We have been blending the best techniques of the combat art systems before the term “Mixed Martial Arts” was ever coined.
Gold Dragon MMA specializes in mixed martial arts, but also breaks MMA into it's major parts: Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing. This gym is well equipped with nearly 1800 square feet of open mats, Muay Thai heavy bags, and a host of other state of the art training tools.
Most importantly, with over 75 combined years of training, we have the most experienced staff of instructors in the Gulf Coast area. Two of the instructors, Mike Gallo, and owner Lawrence Patrick also hold the only two jiu-jitsu black belts in the city of Slidell. At Gold Dragon MMA, all of our instructors are required to have extensive knowledge of all aspects of MMA. Each instructor has a minimum of twelve years experience.
We treat each student as an individual and help them achieve their personal goals, whether they desire to compete in MMA events, learn self-defense, or simply get in shape. Men, women and children of all experience and fitness levels are welcomed.
